Who Are We?
The Play & Early Years Training Unit (Est. 1996):
The Play & Early Years Training Unit (PEYTU) is a registered charity providing information and advice to anyone interested in childcare and/or playwork training or working with children and young people in Bristol and the surrounding areas.
Over the past 10 years, PEYTU has worked closely with Bristol City Council to develop and extend the range of both Continued Professional Development (CPD) and qualifications training available to early years and playwork practitioners in Bristol. PEYTU currently delivers a number of courses throughout the year (see our training) and supports the development of future programmes through partnerships work with other providers.
PEYTU also produces a wide range of publications to support those working with children and young people. What Do We Offer?
- A wide range of training courses and programmes for those either working with, or interested in working with children and young people in Bristol and the surrounding areas
- Information on local, national and regional initiatives in childcare training
- A range of more advanced CACHE accredited level 2 & level 3 training programmes, with supported funding for participants
- Information about work settings and criteria for working in different settings
- A regular Newsletter & Training Update
- A monthly Childcare Vacancies Bulletin
Staff at the Unit are also able to offer guidance and information on
- Working with the Bristol Play Policy
- Working with the Bristol Standard for Over 5’s
- Accessing the (Early Years) Graduate Leader Fund – private, voluntary and independent settings only
- Developing Play in Schools
