Course Title: Makaton for Beginners
Course Aim: This course provides an introductory workshop for parents, carers and professionals who need to use Makaton in everyday situations.
Course Details: Based on the Foundation Workshop, this provides an introductory workshop for parents and carers who need to use Makaton in everyday situations, but with less theory and technical information.
Signing instruction is given for stages 1-4, plus some Additional signs to help in practical situations. Makaton symbols are included and examples of their use are given. Teaching methods are discussed and developed.
Course Outcome: At the end of the beginners workshop, participants should have the confidence and skills to begin to use Makaton more fluently in their daily interactions with children and adults.

Price: Subsidised - £70 (per person) for those working in Early Years, Childcare and/or Playwork within the Bristol Local Authority area.
Non-subsidised - £80 (per person) if: (a) you work in another part of the Children & Young People sector or (b) you work in a setting outside the Bristol Local Authority area.
