    << Go Back

    Paper Plate Elephant

    You will need:
    • Paper plate
    • Glue
    • Grey paint
    • Wiggle eyes
    • Grey card

    Instructions:
Paint the back of the paper plate grey and leave to dry.
Cut a trunk, two legs and an ear from grey card and glue these to your elephant.
    Finish with a wiggle eye.

    Cup And Ball Panda

    You will need:

    • Paper cup
    • Polystyrene ball
    • White paint
    • Glue
    • Wiggle eyes
    • Black felt
    • 2 black pompoms
    • Black marker pen
    Instructions:
Glue the ball to the bottom of the cup. Paint your ball and cup with the paint and leave them to dry.
Stick the two black pompoms to the top of the ball for the panda's ears.
Cut two circles of black felt. Glue these on to the ball where you want the eyes to go. Stick a wiggle eye into the middle of each.
Cut a nose from black foam and glue it to the middle of the face. With a black marker pen, carefully draw on the mouth.
Cut four black felt rectangles and glue these onto the cup to be the panda's legs.

    Homemade Instruments -
    Rainmaker

This homemade Rainmaker is a fun way to make lots of noise at a celebration such as New Year's Eve or a birthday - or just for a kitchen band!

    You will need:
    • A snack tube or a long cardboard tube (such as used for kitchen foil)
    • Paint (gold or silver)
    • Glitter and sequins
    • Glue
    • Lentils or rice
    To make:
Paint your tube and leave to dry. Decorate the tube with sequins and glitter.
Fill the tube about 1/5 full of rice or lentils and glue the lid on securely. If you are using a kitchen foil tube, you will need to cut circles of card or paper and fix them very securely over each end.
Tip the tube from side to side to hear the rice fall.

    Marching Drum

No parade could be complete without a marching drum! Here is how your children can make their own.

    You will need:
    • Old coffee tin
    • Paint
    • Sequins, stickers, ribbon etc to decorate
    • PVA glue
    • Strong glue
    • Ribbon/cord (to allow the drum to be worn)
    Instructions:
Paint the tin and leave to dry. Decorate the drum with stickers, glitter, ribbon and anything else that you fancy.
Make two holes in the tin lid, thread though some cord or ribbon and tie tight knots on the underside of the lid so the cord is secure. With strong glue stick the lid onto the tin.
Wear your drum and march with pride.
If you do not have drum sticks, why not paint and decorate two wooden spoons to use as drum sticks?
